Talk of hiking the minimum wage at the national level has ramped up in recent weeks. With the Democrats controlling the House and the Senate, and Joe Biden in the White House, it seems increasingly likely that we’ll soon see a federal $15 per hour minimum.

In other words, it may soon be illegal to take a job that pays less than $15 an hour.

Money for Nothing, Checks for “Free”

I’m sick and tired of people whining about NOT getting something they DIDN’T earn, and don’t deserve.  Continuing to give people what they WANT instead of what the EARN is a perverse incentive that is destructive to character, and to an economy.

If an employee is still getting a paycheck like nothing has changed, why should taxpayers be put on the hook to give them MORE money that they didn’t earn?  If the company is able to save the money they would be paying the employee, they will have that money in reserve to continue paying the employee for a longer period of time if the the stimulus checks stop.

Now, if the employee has been laid off because the company can’t afford to pay them, then getting the full measure of the stimulus check is a no brainer.

Texas Company Looking To Take Federal Stimulus Money To Employees Back From Their Paychecks

 

A company in Austin, Texas, is looking to dock the pay of workers who receive stimulus checks from the federal government, according to a new report.

“The form says they are preemptively deducting funds from our paychecks. That number is based on what they’re anticipating the government relief fund to be,” a worker for the company told KXAN. The worker asked not to be identified in this investigation so as not to impact his company’s ability to continue doing business,” KXAN reported.

The worker said his company emailed a form titled “Employee Acknowledgement of ‘Government Assistance’ Pay Reduction” to some staffers on Wednesday. “In response to the economic crisis that is affecting all of us due to the coronavirus pandemic…(company name redacted) are hereby enacting the Employee Emergency Compensation Fund,” the letter stated.

The agreement would put workers under a “temporary compensation reduction that is in line with the assistance that it receives from the federal government related to the COVID-19 pandemic.” By signing the agreement, the company’s employees would have their paychecks between April 6 and April 20 cut by 100% of any money received under the stimulus bill.

The company would also take half of the $500 stipend allotted for dependents under the bill.

The worker told the station that the company laid off 25% of its workforce this week. The worker also said he thinks the company was using the money saved in those salaries from former workers to meet payroll.

“The company that I work for is a national company and they make hundreds of millions of dollars in profit a year and instead of making sacrifices at the higher levels, they’re passing it on down to everybody else,” the worker said.

“I think that this violates at least one law that we know of out there,” Austin labor attorney Austin Kaplan told KXAN.

“What they’re trying to do here, it looks like, is take people down to zero for at least one pay period, and the law wouldn’t permit that,” Kaplan told KXAN. “It also just looks like a bad idea. I think employers have other options that they can do than something like this — I haven’t seen something like this before.”

The ONLY Thing “Equal” in Socialist Economics is MISERY

When socialists increase taxes and raise the minimum wage, and EVERYTHING becomes less affordable, what is the socialist’s answer?  Raise taxes and minimum wages even higher, rinse, spin, repeat.  Economics 101 is a class that every socialist I’ve ever known either has not taken, or has flunked out of.

The two things at the core of economics that the left always incorrectly conflate are PRICE and COST.  You can charge whatever price you want for something, but COST is what is actually required to produce something.  If it costs me $100 to break even producing a widget at a $10/hr labor rate, and you artificially force me via a minimum wage to pay my workers $15/hr, I lost money making widgets.  Therefore, I will not make widgets anymore, and the worker will be without a job. 

When you increase the price of labor, the cost of EVERYTHING associated with that labor increases, i.e. a UNIVERSAL increase in the minimum wage increases cost universally.  When you increase the price of labor above what that labor is worth, those jobs go away.  This has been a universal truth and constant for as long as people have bartered and done business.  That fact that leftists ignore history along with economics makes the constant repetition and painful rediscovery of these facts even more agonizing.

• He stifled the economy and businesses with thousands of pages of regulations, higher taxes, and anti-business policies.
• The list goes on almost to infinity.

Everything this faker touched turned to LEAD.

Subsidizing and price fixing us into the poorhouse

This article does a great job explaining how government through its burdensome regulations, tax laws, and cronyism does nothing but create massive market distortions that disrupt and drag down our economy.  The MYTH that the free market has failed is just that.  A MYTH.  We haven’t had a free market in a very long time because it has been pushed off the tracks by progressive Marxist/socialist policies.

Subsidies are a subtle form of economic warfare between the haves (crony corporations) and have-nots (the people) and class warfare created between the people who are divided based on their economic status, minority status, etc. Price controls distort natural supply and demand, destroy profit margins, and create shortages. All is a masquerade for the benefit of a wicked political system.

One of the greatest fallacies of recent generations is the argument that free market capitalism has failed and that said failure is responsible for America’s moribund economy, the ongoing destruction of the middle class and the growing level of income inequality in which the 1 percent get richer at everyone else’s expense.

The American system is much more fascist and oligarchic than capitalistic. Special incentives, tax breaks and subsidies are given to crony corporations and certain industries in order to buy votes and generate kickbacks for lawmakers. And central planners set prices and control production levels of foods and other commodities. These policies create malinvestment and shortages and cause increased costs for staples and other goods by acting as a sort of hidden tax. Much of this stems from the creation of the Federal Reserve — which is neither federal, nor holds reserves — and Great Depression-era legislation that was bad at the time but has since morphed into something much worse.

It’s hard to comprehend all this guy has gotten away with. Any other president would have been impeached during the first year of their presidency for what this tyrant has done! For what Obama has done in 5 years, ANY other president would have been arrested, tried for treason, and HUNG. What in God’s name is wrong with our government that they allow this guy carte blanch to break the law, rewrite and create laws without congress, and ignore and attack the Constitution? It absolutely boggles the mind!

What spawned such an evil man?  How about a communist-muslim loving mother who was into posing for pornographic pictures, a communist-muslim father (whether you believe the father is BO, Sr., or Frank Marshall Davis, the father was at least communist), communist grandparents, terrorist and communist friends and mentors?

On August 10, 2014, outraged protesters looted and torched the local QuikTrip in Ferguson after 18 year-old Mike Brown was shot dead.

Now local Ferguson residents are warning officials to rebuild the businesses,
“Or, it’s gonna be hell to pay.”
CBS interviewed three young men in Ferguson, Missouri this week.
One protester Gunny warned officials:

“To be honest, if they don’t come and restore these neighborhoods for these people, like when you gotta go travel miles to Walmart and to get gas and stuff like that, it should be right here. If they don’t restore this community for people who stay here it’s gonna be hell to pay…

A second protester chimed in:

Yeah, that’s why people looting, because they can’t get no jobs.

As I’ve said, it’s all just a big money laundering operation and political payback. There’s no way to be economically viable when it costs you $10 to make something that your overseas competitor makes for $3, that you can only sell for $4, and you need to sell for $12 to stay in business. In this case, it’s more than govt just picking winners and losers. This is yet another example of the rampant corruption in the Obama administration that is BARELY hidden just under the surface, and sometimes not very well.

A Daily Caller investigation has found that in addition to the failed company Solyndra, at least four other solar panel manufacturing companies receiving in excess of $500 million in loan guarantees from the Obama administration employ executives or board members who have donated large sums of money to Democratic campaigns.

And as questions swirl around possible connections between political donations and these preferential financing arrangements, the Obama White House suddenly began deflecting The Daily Caller’s questions on Wednesday to the Democratic National Committee.

Asked Wednesday to comment on the connection between large Democratic donors and Obama administration loan guarantees to the companies they represent, the White House responded to TheDC with a single sentence: “We refer your question to the Democratic National Committee.”

When the Obama administration releases a report on the Friday before a long weekend, it’s clearly not trying to draw attention to the report’s contents. (Duh. Ya’ think?) Sure enough, the “Seventh Quarterly Report” on the economic impact of the “stimulus,” released on Friday, July 1, provides further evidence that President Obama’s economic “stimulus” did very little, if anything, to stimulate the economy, and a whole lot to stimulate the debt.

Obama’s ‘Transparent’ Secrecy

We’ve seen what Obama’s style of “transparency” gets us. Trillions of dollars in debt, more unemployed than the Great Depression, a crumbling economy, a worthless dollar, a decaying military, increasing dependence on government, record poverty, a declining stature around the world, a constitution under attack. He. Can. NOT. Be. Trusted.

I believe we are girding for our last stand as a nation. If we let the politicians play politics as usual, and try to kick the debt can down the road, failing to take responsibility for both our past and our future, I firmly believe that our economy and way of life will collapse.

Imagine the reaction if President Obama and congressional Democrats had released a sweeping health care bill, drafted in closed-door meetings, and demanded its approval by Congress immediately. There would have been national outrage over the secrecy, lack of time for public hearings, and the absence of discussion, revisions, amendments, and multiple votes.

Yet that is exactly what the White House and Democrats are proposing once – and if – a deal on raising the debt limit by as much as $2 trillion is reached. The administration now insists on an agreement by July 22 in order for the government to avert a default on August 2.
