Obama 2008: VA will be ‘leader of health care reform’

Obama promised to “make the VA a leader of national health care reform” back in 2008. You probably think he broke that promise. On the contrary. The VA, with its wait lists, denial of healthcare, inability to provide care, and vets dying of neglect, is THE example of what Obamacare is leading to. Promise kept.

Hero of the left, Paul Krugman, said this about the VA in 2011:

Krugman added, “Yes, this is ‘socialized medicine’ … But it works, and suggests what it will take to solve the troubles of US health care more broadly.”

This was when they thought they could still sell us full scale socialized medicine like Canada, the UK, and others have.  Well, that’s effectively what we will have once this all takes full effect, but it’s because they lied about what we were being sold, AND the shoved it down our throats despite MASSIVE objections from the majority of the American people.  Over 80% of people were happy with the health insurance they had at the time, and remember that NOT. ONE. SINGLE. REPUBLICAN voted for this abortion of a law.

Yes, the problems in the VA were identified during the Bush administration.  But here’s the deal.  Obama was briefed thoroughly on those problems when he took office, AND he campaigned heavily on fixing those problems as illustrated above.  So, just like the economy that has never recovered and is heading for another full scale recession due to Obama’s policies, Obama OWNS the VA mess just like he OWNS the economy now after 5 and a half years of promises and failed progressive policies.

Oh, and don’t fail to notice that Obama and his willing state-run media have moved on to the prisoner swap for Bowe Bergdahl as a means of distracting Americans angry about the treatment of our veterans with another issue.  But as usual, Obama’s distraction is turning out to be another scandal in itself.  Huh.

OBAMA 2008: VA WILL BE ‘LEADER OF HEALTH CARE REFORM’

N.Y. Times columnist cited ‘huge success story’ of ‘socialized medicine’

Published: 05/22/2014 at 7:55 PM

WASHINGTON — It’s one of those promises the president would probably like to forget.

In vowing to make the Veterans Administration the model of national health-care reform back in 2008, the outlook for scandal-plagued Obamacare suddenly seems even worse.

WND has discovered that during his transition into the White House in 2008-09, President Obama proposed in his “Obama-Biden” plan to “make the VA a leader of national health care reform so that veterans get the best care possible.”

However, instead of fixing the VA, the administration has had to defend its role in the death of veterans by neglect. Continue reading

Think the Debt Crisis is Bad NOW? Just Wait Until Obamacare Fully Kicks In.

Think the debt and deficit are bad now? Think the debt ceiling is looming large now? At a likely additional cost to taxpayers of from $400 to $800 billion ADDITIONAL dollars per year, not to mention the ‘benefits’ of socialized medicine like rationing, it’s not a question of IF our economy will collapse, but WHEN. We must repeal it NOW before it’s too late.

You think the debt crisis is bad now? Wait until Obamacare takes its toll

One of the main reasons for enacting Obamacare was to bring down health care costs – so said the President, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. But since its passage, the sweeping overhaul of one-sixth of our economy has done just the opposite. If you think the debt debate on Capitol Hill has revealed that this nation is on the road to fiscal ruin, just wait until health care reform really kicks in.

The Congressional Budget Office will tell you that we will save $143 billion between 2010 and 2019, but its assumptions were flawed from the start. Doing a close analysis of the budget office scoring, Kathryn Nix of the Heritage Foundation concludes that Obamacare “indisputably represents a massive new burden on current taxpayers and future generations.”

31 Foregone Facts Barack Obama Fans Should Ponder!

By on in Kevin’s Commentary, Politics

1. If a previous president would have increased the deficit by double the amount of his predecessor’s eight year tenure in only his first 30 months, would you have considered him an oniomaniac?

2. If a previous president had then proposed to double the current debt within 10 years, would you have approved?

3. If a previous president would have spent nearly a trillion dollars in stimulus and guaranteed unemployment would not exceed 8%, would you have called him a liar?

4. If a previous president would have played golf for thirteen weekends in a row leaving it up to congressional leaders to deal with the greatest financial crisis since the great depression, would you have considered him disengaged and out of touch?

Indiana Will Defy Obama Admin Order to Not De-Fund Planned Parenthood

Mr. Berwick, Mr. Obama, is or is not the 10th Amendment still a valid part of the constitution? Yes? The BACK OFF. It’s time for the states to flex their 10th Amendment muscles on many issues and tell the tyrannical Federal gubmint “we’re not playing.”

Indiana Will Defy Obama Admin Order to Not De-Fund Planned Parenthood

by Steven Ertelt | LifeNews.com | 6/2/11 8:07 PM

State officials in Indiana say they will defy the decision by the Obama administration asking it to not proceed with implementing a new pro-life state law that would revoke taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

Yesterday, the top Medicaid official in the Obama administration denied Indiana’s use of its new state law that would deny millions in taxpayer dollars to the Indiana affiliate of the nation’s largest abortion business.

Governor Mitch Daniels signed the law, which would cut off anywhere from $2 million to $3 million the Planned Parenthood abortion business receives in federal funds via the Indiana government through Medicaid. Daniels said that “any organization affected by this provision can resume receiving taxpayer dollars immediately by ceasing or separating its operations that perform abortions.”

However, the Obama administration told the state it can’t implement the new law, with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Donald Berwick denying a request to deny funds saying the federal Medicaid law stipulates that states can’t exclude providers based on the services they provide.

DNC Chair: Republicans Believe Illegal Immigration ‘Should be a Crime’

Tuesday, May 31, 2011
By Fred Lucas

(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D.-Fla.), chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, denounced Republicans last week for believing illegal immigration “should in fact be a crime.”

“I think the president was clearly articulating that his position–the Democratic position–is that we need comprehensive immigration reform,” said Wasserman Schultz at a Christian Science Monitor Breakfast on May 26.

“We have 12 million undocumented immigrants in this country that are part of the backbone of our economy and this is not only a reality but a necessity,” she said. “And that it would be harmful–the Republican solution that I’ve seen in the last three years is that we should just pack them all up and ship them back to their own countries and that in fact it should be a crime and we should arrested them all.”

Administration asks judge to tell the states that healthcare law isn’t optional

Administration asks judge to tell the states that healthcare law isn’t optional

The unmitigated gall of these sleazy bastards STILL sickens and shocks me. Even after a federal judge rules his health care takeover unconstitutional, the Usurper in Chief has the gall to ask a federal judge to tell states that they have no option when it comes to participation in Obamacare. At this point, EVERYTHING Obama has done is optional to the states because EVERYTHING he has done to this point has been unconstitutional and illegitimate. When are the American people going to reach the point where they’ve had enough of these usurpers?

Here are some excerpts from the Obama administration filing:

“The Court’s declaratory judgment potentially implicates hundreds of provisions of the Act and, if it were interpreted to apply to programs currently in effect, duties currently …in force, taxes currently being collected, and tax credits that may be owed at this time or in the near future, would create substantial uncertainty.”

The only uncertainty an injunction creates is how much power Obama and the democrats will gain or lose. Obama and the democrats lied about the financial benefits of the bill by reporting costs beginning in 2014, but revenues from taxes that began IMMEDIATELY upon passage of the bill. So, how is it a bad thing exactly when taxpayers get to keep money that was/is being taken for services they will likely never receive?

“Because of the sweeping nature of the declaratory judgment, such an interpretation would pose a risk of substantial disruption and hardship for those who rely on the provisions that have already been implemented.”

Read this to say that “the voters whom we have made dependent on government will not support us anymore when we can’t keep giving them free stuff.”

“This motion respectfully asks the Court to clarify the scope of its order, in particular that its declaratory judgment does not relieve the parties to this case of any obligations or deny them any rights under the Affordable Care Act while the judgment is the subject of appellate review, or, if the Court anticipated otherwise, to address specifically what the Court intends the parties’ obligations and rights to be under the judgment while appellate review is pending.”

In most cases, when something is ruled unconstitutional, or is otherwise under appeal, isn’t it normal to NOT do what is under appeal until the matter is settled? This is like a child molester being allowed to continue molesting children until his case finishes the appeals process.

Obama’s Biggest Whopper?

Yeah, everything Obama fed us about health care reform was a giant whopper of a turd sandwich.

But what has been Obama’s biggest whopper? Perhaps this:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Byron York/Commentary Empty health care promises will haunt Obama

December 2, 2010

Barack Obama is only halfway through his term, but it’s not too early to ask: What is the biggest whopper he has told as president? So far, the hands-down winner is, “No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people. If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

Obama made that particular pledge in a speech to the American Medical Association in June 2009, but he said the same thing, with slight variations, dozens of times during the health care debate. And now, exactly eight months after he signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law, we’re seeing just how empty the president’s promise was.

The New York Times reports there is a “growing frenzy of mergers” in the health care field in which hospitals and other care providers, pressured by the new law’s provisions, are joining forces to save money. “Consumer advocates fear that the health care law could worsen some of the very problems it was meant to solve,” the paper reports, “by reducing competition, driving up costs and creating incentives for doctors and hospitals to stint on care, in order to retain their cost-saving bonuses.”
