Why Some People Need a Good Killing…A Biblical Defense for Self Defense

Just because you are a Christian doesn’t mean you need to roll over and let someone kill you.  You have a right, and a responsibility to defend yourself, your family, and your neighbors.

“To die a victim in the name of martyrdom, when the perpetrator will likely go on to kill more innocent people, is not martyrdom – it is cowardice. A man that does not care for his own family, in particular, is worse than an infidel (1 Timothy 5:8) – and calling the police while your family is being assaulted falls short of the biblical responsibilities of manhood.”

Why Some People Need a Good Killing…A Biblical Defense for Self Defense

Just because we’re good people doesn’t mean we won’t kill you – Rick Grimes

Right. So, maybe a Biblical defense for self-defense shouldn’t begin with quotation from the protagonist in a televised Zombie apocalypse set in the dystopian near-future. But, when I heard Rick say that, it was real. There’s no room for pretense when zombies are kicking down the doors to your rickety old barn.

We may not have zombies kicking down our barn doors, but like Rick Grimes, we live in a world where pretense will get you killed. Normalcy bias will get your killed. Pacifism will get you killed. Your pretty little philosophies and pontifications will get you killed. We live in a world of bad guys, albeit they’re not the walking dead. But, they are dangerous. And frankly, it’s time Christian leaders recognize that danger and stop being such metrosexual nancies without a modicum of moral clarity when dogmatizing our followers on the WWJD of martyrdom. In short, Christians leaders need to look less like Reverend Lovejoy and more like the Machine Gun Preacher. What you may not realize while locked away in your pastor’s study is that our world looks more like Rick Grimes’ than Homer Simpson’s. Sometimes, people need a good killing.

What I need you to do, if you’re to stomach the rest of this article, is take any notion you have of a Big Lebowski-looking Christ who rides the clouds on Falcor the Luck Dragon, handing out puppies and skittles out of Santa’s bottomless gift bag and put that image into the dustbin of your mind. Stop tasting the rainbow, put down the Rachel Held Evans book, and gird up your loins like a man. Instead, focus on the actual Christ, the one whose feet were caked with mud and muck and suggested his disciples go out and buy a sword on the night of his crucifixion, knowing they would soon be outlaws and in need of protection (Luke 22:36). Yes, focus on Christ, who is the second person of the Trinity and who transcends in ancient divinity the temporality of his earthly walk, and let us develop a Bible-long systematic theology of martyrology and self-defense.

As much as Jesus Seminar liberals would like to limit the teachings of Christ to his three-year ministry chronicled in the Gospel accounts, the reality for orthodox Christians is that every word of the Bible should be colored in Red. Being Trinitarians, we believe in a Triune God consisting of three Persons making up the Godhead (Acts 17:29, Romans 1:20, Colossians 2:9, KJV). The Persons of the Trinity, consisting of and being in themselves God, are at perfect unity and harmony together (Isaiah 61:1-2). Each one performs and acts according to the same will (John 6:38). In short, the words of God the Father, who inspired the Sacred Texts through God the Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16), is indeed the will and word of God the Son (John 1:1,14).

What this means is that to understand the teachings of God the Son, without juxtaposing his teaching with the teachings of God the Father, requires a systematic teaching on the subject of martyrology and self-defense throughout the entire canon of Scripture.

While it is true that Jesus told Peter to put away His sword because he must be crucified for the sins of the world (Matthew 26:52), he told them that very night to buy a sword in advance of their coming persecution (Luke 22:36). While Jesus’ exhortation that we turn the cheek from insult (Matthew 5:39) has been taken by pacifists (defined by JD’d dictionary as “those who let others die for their lives and liberties”) to be the locus classicus text for passive non-resistance, a robust theology of persecution reveals that that the thrice-holy God has indeed called his people to self-defense, protection of the innocent through violent means, and promotion of the general welfare through war. There is no logical reason to believe that God’s call to arms throughout Scripture has been abrogated in this current dispensation, for God does not change (Malachi 3:6) and his Word is immutable (Hebrews 6:17). Furthermore, the call to martyrdom that we see repeated throughout the New Testament does not imply that our death for the sake of the cross be a peaceful surrendering of ourselves over to injustice or voluntary death.

A thorough analysis of God’s divine hand guiding the body-politic of ancient Israel reveals an understood right of self-defense. We are to deliver the innocent from those that seek them harm (Proverbs 82:4). While murder is clearly prohibited (Leviticus 24:16-17), the taking of a murderer’s life is not prohibited and neither is it murder (Genesis 9:6). The qualifying distinctions between killing and murder are found in places like Exodus 21, Numbers 35, and Deuteronomy 19. In the commonwealth laws of Israel, delivered by God, one had the right to take the life of one breaking into their home in the night (Exodus 22:2). The general equity of this Old Testament law (to use words from the London Baptist and Westminister Confession) – that is, what is moral, universal and perpetual in nature – is that it is morally acceptable to take the life of one who will harm the innocent.

Even though our enemies are not flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12), the same is true for the Israelites as they were rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls, when they were instructed to arm themselves for potential conflict (Nehemiah 4:17). The realization of spiritual enemies did not negate the reality that there might be some people in need of a good killing, and God’s people were to be prepared to fight back. When Haman’s plans went awry because of Esther’s obedience, God’s people were instructed to kill those who sought their lives (Esther 9:2-5). When Abraham’s family was in jeopardy, he raised an army and killed their captors (Genesis 14:14-18) and was later blessed by God for that action.

To die a victim in the name of martyrdom, when the perpetrator will likely go on to kill more innocent people, is not martyrdom – it is cowardice. A man that does not care for his own family, in particular, is worse than an infidel (1 Timothy 5:8) – and calling the police while your family is being assaulted falls short of the biblical responsibilities of manhood.

David’s hands were taught to operate a lethal weapon by God (Psalm 18:24). The limp-wristed effiminazi Intelligentsia calling for the disarmament of Christians today are a far cry from the man who was after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22). And while we do not trust in our weapons, but in God (Psalm 44:7), this presupposes the ownership of weapons. On any given day, I may carry a number of different lethal weapons, but my trust is in God that they will fire properly, hit their target, or in God’s kind providence, I’ll find their use unnecessary.

Furthermore, we must understand that Christ’s martyrdom is wholly unlike our own. Christ’s death was a sacrifice, and offering it up bought the souls of men. Our life cannot be given in the same manner of Christ (for we neither lay it down nor pick it up of our own accord), and neither does it propitiate for any sins. Although we are, indeed, sheep sent out to wolves, the Good Shepherd never intended and neither does he ask us to provide a pacifistic buffet of mutton for any wolf that would seek to devour us.

That a martyr may resist, does not make him less of a martyr. That a man doesn’t resist when his family is in peril, does make him less of a man.

In light of the shooting at UCC, I call on all Christian leaders to stop the liberal pontificating on how guns caused this problem and call them to consider on why a lack of guns (along with a murderous, depraved heart as the root issue) caused this problem. Christ has called us to love our neighbor (Mark 12:31), and if you are unprepared to defend your neighbor due to dainty sensibilities or the irrational fear of using a firearm, I’d suggest you do not love your neighbors as much as you ought.

“Palestinian” Prime Minister: We’re following the path of the Nazi Mufti

If there was ever justification for the Israelis to bulldoze Gaza into the Mediterranean and reclaim ownership of it, this would be it.  Israel, including the Gaza strip, was historically the homeland of the Jews for centuries before the psychotic delusion that is islam was ever created.  The muslims since the creation of their “religion” have consistently held the position that all Jews must be exterminated, and that Israel has no right to exist.  Below is a little piece of history tied into the modern day that is, shall we say, inconvenient for the muslims.

You may remember or have heard of a man by the name of Adolf Hitler who was evil incarnate.  The muslims led by Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini were allies of Adolf Hitler.  Guess what?  They still are.  Today’s “Palestinian Authority,” and its leader Mahmoud Abbas, unflinchingly and unabashedly pronounce that they are following the path of the demon Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini.  That means they are still seeking the destruction of Israel and the Jews.  But you should already know that, because they have ALWAYS said that, and in the “negotiations” with Israel have NEVER changed that position.

The Muslim leader aligned with Hitler during World War II. He lived in the lap of luxury (on Hitler’s dime) while raising Muslim armies for Hitler. He was responsible for the death of over 400,000 Jewish women and children.

The Nazis paid for their actions during the Holocaust. The Muslim world never did. They never even apologized. They were rewarded, and they are still being rewarded. Read more here (scroll).

Obama Pledges US Military to Defend Iran Facilities Against Israel

“It was revealed that Obama has pledged the United States military to protect Iranian nuclear facilities against any and all aggressive moves from Israel, and any other nations like Saudi Arabia who oppose the deal.”

One of two words:  MUTINY or COUP.

Barack Obama has been giving aid and arms to our enemies, now he is going use OUR military to PROTECT OUR ENEMIES, and ensure they are not impeded from getting NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

This has gone way beyond “too far.”  It must stop.  NOW.

The United States and other world powers will help to teach Iran how to thwart and detect threats to its nuclear program, according to the parameters of a deal reached Tuesday to rein in Iran’s contested nuclear program.

Under the terms of a deal that provides Iran billions of dollars in sanctions relief, Iran and global powers will cooperate to help teach Iran how to manage its nuclear infrastructure, which will largely remain in tact under the deal. Continue reading

No longer the WORST president, but still the DUMBEST

Words can not possibly describe how big of a foolish idiot Jimmy Carter actually is. Jimmuh, you keep talking about your prayers. WHO do you pray to? The god of the rock throwers, or God? It doesn’t seem to be the latter. Mr. Cahtuh, when you say “fairness and justice to the Palestinians,” what do you mean? When the Palestinians lob rockets into Israel and carry out suicide attacks day after day, killing Israeli civilians, I suppose you think “justice” means rewarding them for killing Israelis? Then you ramble on about there not being “equality in military power” between Israel and the Palestinians. If there were equality of military power, what do you think the Palestinians would do with it? Do you think they would show restraint with their newly found strength? NO, YOU IDIOT. They would do EVERYTHING they could to destroy Israel. Then you continue to prattle on about all the schools and hospitals being destroyed. Did you care to ask WHY they were destroyed? It couldn’t POSSIBLY be that the Palestinian terrorists were launching rockets from the those locations, and using them as weapons caches, and using ambulances with red crescents to move arms and soldiers, could it? As for the homes and other buildings that were destroyed, again, they were destroyed either because attacks were being launched from there, or the occupant was a suicide attacker who killed Israeli citizens. Did you know that the Israelis dropped leaflets, and even CALLED THE OCCUPANTS ON THEIR PHONES to warn them to leave the buildings before they were attacked to prevent unnecessary loss of life? Would your beloved Palestinian terrorists have given the same courtesy to Israelis? I bet you think so. How could such a brain damaged idiot become president of the United States? Yes, you relinquished the crown of “Worst President EVER” to Barack Obama, but that is only because his calculating evil outstripped your unimaginable stupidity.

Obama and UN DON’T Condemn Hamassholes for Using Civilians as Human Shields

Notice that the Obama administration and the UN don’t condemn the hamassholes for hiding behind women and children to launch their rockets, and to store their weapons?  And when the freaking UN inspectors go into the UNRWA schools and find weapons stored there, they call the local authorities and turn the weapons over to them. Who are the “local authorities?” FREAKING HAMAS!!!! The UN is trafficking weapons for the hamassholes.  UNRWA is supposed to stand for UN RELIEF WORKS Agency, not UN ROCKET WAREHOUSING Agency.

UN, US Condemn Strike on UN-run Gaza School

by VOA News August 03, 2014

A United Nations school sheltering displaced people in the southern Gaza Strip was hit Sunday by what a U.N. official said appeared to be an Israeli airstrike, an attack that killed 10 people as Israel signaled a possible scaling back in the ongoing war.

At least 10 people were killed and another 35 injured at the Rafah school, which housed 3,000 displaced Palestinians, U.N. officials said.

Witnesses said the explosion at the school occurred as people were waiting in line for food. In the chaotic aftermath, several bodies, including those of children, were strewn across the ground in pools of blood.

The Israeli military said it was looking into the reported attack, the second to hit a school in less than a week, and the third strike in 10 days on a U.N. school used for refugees. Continue reading

Time to Take Out the Garbage

  • He has broken the law on numerous occasions without so much as a peep from congress.
    • War Powers Act
    • Immigration Laws
  • He lied to sell the unconstitutional Obamacare, and continues to lie about its failed implementation.
  • He has violated the constitutional separation of powers by unilaterally changing the Obamacare law dozens of times without the involvement of congress to appease his supporters.
  • He seeks daily to take away or 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms while at the same time GIVING guns and money to terrorists and drug cartels. TREASON.
  • He seeks and supports ways to limit or take away 1st Amendment rights, among many others.
  • He supports our enemies while alienating, offending, and abandoning our allies.
    • Israel is the prime example of a snubbed ally.
    • Iran is the prime example of an enabled enemy.

Barack Obama/Barry Soetoro is demonstrably the most anti-American, and most incompetent president in America’s history.  Much of his past which would prove his legitimacy is sealed, and most of what hasn’t been sealed has been arguably manufactured.

Barack Obama/Barry Soetoro has gotten away with much more than previous presidents were impeached for without so much as a peep from congress.

Barack Obama/Barry Soetoro must be removed from office.  If congress will not act, then we must.  If congress will not act, then we must remove them as well.  We have seen to much of our nation destroyed, and too many of our freedoms lost to allow this to continue.

It is time.

Repeal Obama

Obama and Co. – Throwing Israel (and the world) to the Iranian Wolves

“In truth, it’s not a deal in the usual meaning of the term. It’s an accommodation. It’s a way for the Obama administration to avoid confronting Iran, and to buy time to acclimate the world to accepting a nuclear Iran.”

What a difference an administration makes. Once upon a time, we respected the opinion of our allies, especially those allies with the most to lose when making agreements like this. All this agreement does, just like all the foot dragging about dealing with Iran up to this point, is give Iran more time to build their weapons. Even if they aren’t actively developing warheads, allies like North Korea will be helping them. This agreement just pays Iran to develop nukes, and forces Israel one step closer to having to take matters into their own hands if they wish to survive.

Our prayers are with you, Israel.  As well as our apologies for our government betraying you.  Please know that the majority of Americans support you despite what our idiot government does.  We are trying to rectify this mistake we call a government.

No Deal

William Kristol

December 2, 2013, Vol. 19, No. 12

Lincoln Side by SideAs we go to press, the Obama administration seems to be hurtling towards a bad deal with Iran. <NOTE: The deal had already been signed when I made this post> The administration will claim the agreement freezes and indeed sets back the Iranian nuclear program. But even the New York Times acknowledges that “only some elements are frozen, and rollbacks in the initial agreement are relatively minor” and can be easily reversed. Furthermore, the “deal” would mean the United States would retreat from its previous clear red line—one embodied in repeated U.N. Security Council resolutions—of requiring that Iran stop enrichment. It would allow Iran to move ever closer to nuclear weapons while getting significant sanctions relief. <In other words, we’re PAYING Iran to develop nuclear weapons> Some deal! In truth, it’s not a deal in the usual meaning of the term. It’s an accommodation. It’s a way for the Obama administration to avoid confronting Iran, and to buy time to acclimate the world to accepting a nuclear Iran.

What will the Obama administration’s leading lights say when this becomes obvious? When he sees his grand diplomatic achievement crumbling around him, will Secretary of State John Kerry join his counterpart, Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius, in sighing and exclaiming with pithy eloquence, “Uh-oh”? Will President Barack Obama offer the same apology to the Israelis that he has to Americans who held insurance policies they liked: “I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me”? As the implementation of the Iran agreement goes the way of the implementation of Obamacare, will his reaction be to say, “We’re going to have to, obviously, re-market and re-brand”?

The president and his colleagues will presumably say these sorts of things. But of course it will be too late. Congress can legislate to try to make up for the failure of Obama’s assurances about health insurance, and to try to help Americans get their old policies back. But Congress won’t be able to legislate to undo a nuclear Iran. The American people can ignore Obama’s efforts to re-market and re-brand Obamacare, and instead insist on its repeal. But the American people won’t be able to repeal Iran’s nuclear weapons once Iran has them.

That’s why serious people, in Congress and outside, will do their utmost to expose and scuttle Obama’s bad Iran deal. They can expect to be smeared by the Obama administration as reckless warmongers and slandered by Obama’s media epigones as tools of the Israel lobby. One trusts at least some members of Congress and some political leaders are made of stern enough stuff to resist the attempted intimidation.

But one can’t be optimistic about their chances for success in scuttling the deal. And one can’t be optimistic that the Obama administration will reverse course at the eleventh hour. Which means the last, best hope for stopping the Iranian regime from having nuclear weapons may well lie in a deus ex machina (if one may be permitted to use a pagan phrase for a Jewish state). It is Israel, not the great American superpower, that may well have to act to thwart Iran’s nuclear ambitions. And so the democratically elected leader of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will have to weigh his choices, with the burden of history on his mind and the judgment of future generations in his thoughts.

Last week was the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Many commentators mentioned the irony of Lincoln’s saying that his brief remarks would soon be forgotten. There was indeed irony, an intended irony, in the statement. But Lincoln’s tribute to those who fought, and his elevation of their deeds above his speech, isn’t ironic:

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate—we can not consecrate—we can not hallow—this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be here dedicated to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced.

Lincoln’s speech at Gettysburg will be studied as long as people care about the American experiment in self-government, or about political greatness. But Lincoln knew as well as anyone that speech has to be supported by deeds. It was the soldiers’ hard-won victory in the battle of Gettysburg that was the precondition for Lincoln’s remarks, and for America’s “new birth of freedom.” So Lincoln was telling the plain but deep truth when he emphasized, and gave priority to, “what they did here.” In politics, deeds matter. Speech, even the most eloquent and thoughtful speech, is not enough.

Benjamin Netanyahu understands this. Jewish history, and not just Jewish history, teaches this lesson. Netanyahu may well judge that he has to act to stop the Iranian regime from getting nuclear weapons. If he does, then Israel will fight. And Israel will be right.
