Money for Nothing, Checks for “Free”

I’m sick and tired of people whining about NOT getting something they DIDN’T earn, and don’t deserve.  Continuing to give people what they WANT instead of what the EARN is a perverse incentive that is destructive to character, and to an economy.

If an employee is still getting a paycheck like nothing has changed, why should taxpayers be put on the hook to give them MORE money that they didn’t earn?  If the company is able to save the money they would be paying the employee, they will have that money in reserve to continue paying the employee for a longer period of time if the the stimulus checks stop.

Now, if the employee has been laid off because the company can’t afford to pay them, then getting the full measure of the stimulus check is a no brainer.

Texas Company Looking To Take Federal Stimulus Money To Employees Back From Their Paychecks

A company in Austin, Texas, is looking to dock the pay of workers who receive stimulus checks from the federal government, according to a new report.

“The form says they are preemptively deducting funds from our paychecks. That number is based on what they’re anticipating the government relief fund to be,” a worker for the company told KXAN. The worker asked not to be identified in this investigation so as not to impact his company’s ability to continue doing business,” KXAN reported.

The worker said his company emailed a form titled “Employee Acknowledgement of ‘Government Assistance’ Pay Reduction” to some staffers on Wednesday. “In response to the economic crisis that is affecting all of us due to the coronavirus pandemic…(company name redacted) are hereby enacting the Employee Emergency Compensation Fund,” the letter stated.

The agreement would put workers under a “temporary compensation reduction that is in line with the assistance that it receives from the federal government related to the COVID-19 pandemic.” By signing the agreement, the company’s employees would have their paychecks between April 6 and April 20 cut by 100% of any money received under the stimulus bill.

The company would also take half of the $500 stipend allotted for dependents under the bill.

The worker told the station that the company laid off 25% of its workforce this week. The worker also said he thinks the company was using the money saved in those salaries from former workers to meet payroll.

“The company that I work for is a national company and they make hundreds of millions of dollars in profit a year and instead of making sacrifices at the higher levels, they’re passing it on down to everybody else,” the worker said.

“I think that this violates at least one law that we know of out there,” Austin labor attorney Austin Kaplan told KXAN.

“What they’re trying to do here, it looks like, is take people down to zero for at least one pay period, and the law wouldn’t permit that,” Kaplan told KXAN. “It also just looks like a bad idea. I think employers have other options that they can do than something like this — I haven’t seen something like this before.”

Washington State Preparing to Implement Death Panels

Remember when democrats and others on the left bristled at Sarah Palin referring to the IPAB panels in Obamacare that would ration healthcare as “death panels?”  She was 100% right, but just hit too close to the target for the left to allow her truth to go unpunished/unchallenged.

Now, a decade after Obamacare’s implementation, and a gutting of our healthcare system as a result, we see one state overtly making preparations to implement… wait for it…  DEATH PANELS.

Ezekiel Emanuel was one of the chief architects of Obamacare, and the author of the “death panel” system.  Here’s a brief synopsis.

The Complete Lives System, co-authored by Ezekiel J. Emanuel, M.D., Ph.D., is based on five underlying principles: Youngest First, Prognosis, Save the Most Lives, Lottery, and Instrumental Value. The aim of the system is to achieve equal outcomes so as to achieve “complete lives.” The system basically seeks to redistribute “life years” from older individuals to younger individuals. The proposed mechanism to achieve this is a centralized system of rationing medical care that limits care for older individuals in favor of providing it to younger individuals. The authors of the Complete Lives article claim this is not age discrimination because all individuals are subject to aging and older individuals have already lived through the age of younger individuals and thus have a greater number of life years.

Atlas is about to Shrug

Those who have never built a business and signed the FRONT of a paycheck, which would be most of the Marxist hacks in Washington D.C. and the entitlement zombies who keep reelecting them, simply will NEVER be able to understand the simple truth this man speaks. Right before our eyes, Atlas is about to shrug. Those who can will no longer have the incentive to DO. They will work for profit and for MUTUAL benefit, i.e. wage for service, but they will never allow themselves to be enslaved, which is what’s happening. If we continue this path, those guiding us down it have no idea how bad things are about to become. Or do they?

Public Housing

The problem with public housing is that the residents are not the owners. The people that live in the house did not earn the house, but were loaned the property from the true owners, the taxpayers. Because of this, the residents do not have the “pride of ownership” that comes with the hard work necessary. In fact, the opposite happens and the residents resent their benefactors because the very house is a constant reminder that they themselves did not earn the right to live in the house. They do not appreciate the value of the property and see no need to maintain or respect it in any way.

The result is the same whether you are talking about a studio apartment or a magnificent mansion full of priceless antiques. If the people who live there do not feel they earned the privilege, they will make this known through their actions. The picture below illustrates the point…

Didn't EARN it, so doesn't respect it.

The Resolute Desk was built from the timbers of the HMS Resolute and was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes.  It is considered a national treasure and icon of the presidency.

Mr. Obama, with all due respect, get your @#$% feet off our desk!
