Why Should ANY Lawmaker or the President Get a Paycheck If They Can’t Get Budgets Passed?

While I applaud these lawmakers gesture to refuse their paycheck, it shouldn’t be just an option if they can’t do their jobs and get budgets passed.  They should not receive a check for the duration of any shutdown, or for any period where they are operating under a continuing resolution.  They should BY LAW forfeit their paychecks, and NOT get back pay when the government reopens, or when they finally pass a budget.  That would be a small incentive to DO THEIR JOB.

p.s.:  There should be no such thing as “omnibus” budgets.  EVERY budget for EVERY agency/department should have to be passed INDIVIDUALLY after appropriate consideration.  This means that lawmakers would actually have to work all year long to get budgets passed in time for the next fiscal year.  Cry me a river.

Some freshmen say no paycheck during shutdown, but most lawmakers get paid

Martha McSally Appointed to Fill John McCain’s Former Senate Seat

So, this Ducey clown who appointed a weak person to fill the seat formerly held by John McCain, doubles down and does it AGAIN by appointing a weak candidate, who ran a weak race, and lost to a socialist democrat.  How do you lose to a socialist in ARIZONA?

Martha McSally Appointed to Fill John McCain’s Former Senate Seat

By JACK CROWE | December 18, 2018 11:38 AM

Representative Martha McSally (R., Ariz.) will be appointed to fill the late John McCain’s former Senate seat following the retirement of his initial successor, Senator Jon Kyl (R., Ariz.) at the end of the year.

Arizona governor Doug Ducey announced Tuesday that McSally, who lost a contest for Arizona’s other Senate seat to Democrat Krysten Sinema in November, will replace Kyl in January.

Mark “Napoleon” Zuckerberg Used Booster Seat During Testimony

Zuckerberg in booster seat

To soothe his little-guy syndrome, Zuckerberg used a booster seat to make himself not appear quite so small as he was placed under the public and congressional microscope yesterday.  While nothing substantive came from the hearing, and only a few meaningful questions were asked, and even fewer actually answered, we got to see a little man on a power trip.  He has enough money to buy the world, can influence elections, has a near monopoly on social media, and knows he can buy off nearly every politician on Capitol Hill to get out of this mess, and probably already has.  If there are any governmental regulations that come from this mess, they will likely have the effect of LIMITING competition with Facebook rather than encouraging it by erecting regulatory barriers to entry.  That’s EXACTLY what Zuckerberg wants.

Business Insider:  Mark Zuckerberg gave his grueling, 5-hour testimony to Congress from a 4-inch booster seat

Democrats Hate America

Yes, the title says it all. How can a reasonable person draw a different conclusion based on the facts?

The simple truth is that democrats are willing to make AMERICANS suffer to benefit ILLEGAL ALIENS. They are putting the interests of criminals and other nations ahead of and above those of the AMERICAN CITIZENS whom they are supposed to serve. In the house version of a continuing resolution to fund the government, the democrats were given all of the stuff they typically support, but they STILL insist on shutting down government, and penalizing our military and veterans, children, and the elderly.

U.S. House Paid $15 Million to Its Secret Sexual Harassment Victims

Excuse my language, but why am I paying for the sins of these sons of bitches when they rape or sexually abuse someone?  What is the origin of debt on THAT turd?  If I get in legal trouble for some reason, is congress going to pay my legal bills, or pay off people to make them go away?  We all know the answer to that.

Congress, and our federal government as a whole, is a wretched hive of scum, villainy, and evil the likes of which this country has never known.  If our enemies were to treacherously knock out the entire congress while they were in session, they would actually be doing us a favor.  We could start over.

Are you mad enough yet?  What’s it going to take?

Mitch McConnell Trying to Give MORE Power to Obama, Ability to Delcare International Martial Law

Progressive RINOs Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, and others are once again seeking to give away even more of congress’s constitutional power to the office of the president, read as Barack Obama.  As hard as they keep trying to do this, one could easily be forgiven for believing these progressive RINOs and their democrat friends want a monarchy in this country.  Or a dictatorship…

A new bill making its way through Congress contains “dangerous and unprecedented” language that could be considered a “declaration of international martial law,” a US senator warned last Thursday.

“This resolution is a total rewrite of the War Powers clause of the Constitution. Let’s be clear about that,” Democrat Senator Chris Murphy said on the Senate floor last week in regards to S.J. Res. 29, a bill purporting to give the sitting US president the power to declare war on ISIS.
“It is essentially a declaration of international martial law,” Murphy said. Continue reading

A President Who Never Does His Job Tells the Senate to Do Their Job

Obama and his hypocritical minions are waging an offensive claiming that the Constitution says the senate can’t prevent Obama from appointing a justice to replace Antonin Scalia.  It’s amusing that many of the same people saying the senate can’t stop Obama from appointing a justice were senators who did everything in their power as senators to prevent a Republican president from appointing a justice, even coming right out and saying in the case of Chuckie Schumer that he would prevent any nominee of George W. Bush from being voted on for the last 18 months of Bush’s presidency.  The current Vice President, Joe Biden, was one of the chief persecutors of Robert Bork, giving rise to the phrase “getting Borked.”  The democrats don’t have a leg to stand on in this debate.  As I heard it said about Mitch McConnell saying no Obama appointee would be approved, it was poor chess.  I agree with McConnell, and I pray he has the guts to say the course and not cave into Obama AGAIN, but he should have said nothing, submitted the liberal candidates to the same body cavity search they have submitted conservative appointees to until they withdrew themselves from consideration, but still never bring them up for a vote.

But assuming the not so conservative Republican leadership actually holds the line, the fear is that Obama will just do a recess appointment when the senate adjourns in January prior to the inauguration.  I would not put it past him, but I do not believe such action to be constitutional.  Here’s why.

A question I have posited elsewhere, if the Constitution says what it says, and doesn’t say what it doesn’t say, am I correct in interpreting Article 2, Sect 2 of the Constitution to say that POTUS can’t simply do a recess appointment for a “Supreme” Court justice because the senate is in recess, but that the vacancy he is attempting to fill must have occurred DURING THAT RECESS?

“The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session.”

What do you think? I guess your answer depends on whether you think the Constitution is ACTUALLY the law of the land or not.
