Here’s a hint: It starts with a capital M, ends with an O, and has an X somewhere in the middle.
People who oppose what Arizona was forced to do, or who support amnesty and say we are discriminating against Latinos and/or Mexicans are so full of crap that it’s oozing from their pores. Let’s look a few very pertinent bits of the Mexican constitution to compare it with the “unfairness” and “mistreatment” of illegal aliens in America. Salient points are highlighted in GREEN.
Only Mexicans by birth or naturalization and Mexican companies have the right to acquire ownership of lands, waters, and their appurtenances, or to obtain concessions for the exploitation of mines or of waters.
Article 30. Mexican nationality is acquired by birth or by naturalization:
1. Mexicans by birth are:
1. Those born in the territory of the Republic, regardless of the nationality of their parents:
2. Those born in a foreign country of Mexican parents; of a Mexican father and a foreign mother; or of a Mexican mother and an unknown father;
3. Those born on Mexican vessels or airships, either war or merchant vessels.
2. Mexicans by naturalization are:
1. Foreigners who obtain letters of naturalization from the Secretariat of Foreign Relations;
2. A foreign woman who marries a Mexican man and has or establishes her domicile within the national territory.
Article 31. The obligations of Mexicans are:
1. To see that their children or wards, under fifteen years of age, attend public or private schools to obtain primary, elementary and military education during the time prescribed by the Law on Public Education in each State.
2. To be present on the days and hours designated by the Ayuntamiento of the place in which they reside, to receive civic and military instruction which will equip them for the exercise of their rights as citizens, give them skill in the handling of arms, and acquaint them with military discipline. (Sounds like a “well regulated militia” to me. Could also be seen in a totalitarian light.)
3. To enlist and serve in the National Guard, according to the respective organic law, to secure and defend the independence, the territory, the honor, the rights and interests of the homeland, as well as domestic tranquility and order. (Can you say “DRAFT?” Oh, but wait. No IMMIGRANTS can serve in their military.)
4. To contribute to the public expenditures of the Federation, and the State and Municipality in which they reside, in the proportional and equitable manner provided by law. (Novel idea. Mexicans must pay taxes. It doesn’t say where to get the money for your taxes. Maybe that’s why so many of them come here. What the government deems to be “proportional and equitable” is something they can’t achieve in Mexico because their economy is a trash heap, and their own government discriminates against them. So they come to America, where they are allowed to suckle the breast of “free” handouts while undercutting American workers for jobs, and sending most of the money on which they paid no taxes back to Mexico. Money from Mexican immigrants is the biggest source of revenue to the Mexican government. It even outstrips their oil sells. It is not the responsibility of the American taxpayer to subsidize the failed government of Mexico.)
Article 32. (14)Mexicans shall have priority over foreigners under equality of circumstances for all classes of concessions and for all employment, positions, or commissions of the Government in which the status of citizenship is not indispensable. In time of peace no foreigner can serve in the Army nor in the police or public security forces. (The Taco Mafia in congress seems to think that this applies to Mexicans in the United States as well. This should be the rule that we apply for American citizens. Americans FIRST, especially since we are the ones paying the freaking taxes!)
In order to belong to the National Navy or the Air Force, and to discharge any office or commission, it is required to be a Mexican by birth. This same status is indispensable for captains, pilots, masters, engineers, mechanics, and in general, for all personnel of the crew of any vessel or airship protected by the Mexican merchant flag or insignia It is also necessary to be Mexican by birth to discharge the position of captain of the port and all services of pratique and airport commandant, as well as all functions of customs agent in the Republic. (There is one and only one job in the U.S. that requires the holder of said job to be a natural born citizen. Can you guess what that job is? It is a job currently held by someone who has not, will not, and probably CAN NOT prove he is a natural born U.S. citizen. If we applied this rule as the Mexicans do, we would have to discharge a third or more of our military. Can you see the Mexican constitution and still say that America is UNFAIR to immigrants? If you try, you’re a fool. After all, we elected one president IN SPITE of our constitution.)
Article 33. Foreigners are those who do not possess the qualifications set forth in Article 30. They are entitled to the guarantees granted by Chapter I, Title I, of the present Constitution; but the Federal Executive shall have the exclusive power to compel any foreigner whose remaining he may deem inexpedient to abandon the national territory immediately and without the necessity of previous legal action. (As our commander-in-grief is so fond of saying, “Let me be clear.” In simple terms, this means they can round you up and kick you out of Mexico with no warning, no legal recourse, no reason given. Even when we arrest illegal immigrants in this country, they are seldom deported. They are usually released on their own recognizance and told to come back for an immigration hearing if they feel like showing up. Hey La Raza, the Congressional Taco Mafia, and all the other whiners out there. How would you feel if America played by Mexico’s rule on this one? Show me where the Arizona law is ANYTHING like this. You can’t, because it’s not.)
Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country. (But in America the illegal immigrants, criminals by definition of their even being here, are allowed to gather by the thousands and DEMAND that American taxpayers pay for their education, health care, housing, and other freebies. They DEMAND that we “legalize” them. Every time they have one of these rallies, the border patrol should be surrounding them with a parade of buses ready to take them back to the border. How dare you stand in my country, wave your Mexican flag, burn my flag, and make demands of me when you shouldn’t even be here. Go home.)
Article 34. Men and women who, having the status of Mexicans, likewise meet the following requirements are citizens of the Republic:
1. Having reached eighteen years of age, if married, or twenty-one years of age if unmarried;
2. Having an honest means of livelihood.
That last one is where the Mexicans actually get it right. To be a CITIZEN, i.e. to VOTE and receive the privileges of citizenship, you must have a job. That means you PAY TAXES. Today we have 50% of the country paying no taxes, but having the ability to tell the other half to pay more, and telling them how those taxes must be spent. ABSURD!!!
So, all of you who say we are treating illegal aliens UNFAIRLY need to shut the gaping maw under your nose because you have no idea what you’re talking about. Just try walking across the Mexican border and demanding that the Mexican government give you welfare, free health care, a free education, and a host of other benefits that illegal alien criminals get here. If you weren’t jailed, shot, or deported it would be a miracle. Of course they would laugh at you first.
