Open Letter to the NFL and its Players

To the NFL and its players:
If I have brain cancer, I don’t ask my dentist what I should do. If my car has a problem, I don’t seek help from a plumber!  Why do you think the public cares what a football player thinks about politics?  If we want to know about football, then depending on the information we seek, we might consult with you, but even a quarterback doesn’t seek advice on playing his position from a defensive tackle!

You seem to have this over inflated view of yourselves, thinking because you enjoy working on such a large scale stage, that somehow your opinion about everything matters.  The NFL realizes the importance of its “image” so it has rules that specify the clothes and insignia you can wear, the language you use, and your “antics” after a touchdown or other “great” play.  But somehow you and your employer don’t seem to care that you disgrace the entire nation and its 320 million people in the eyes of the world by publicly disrespecting this country, its flag, and its anthem!  The taxpaying citizens of this country subsidize your plush work environments, yet you choose to use those venues to openly offend those very citizens.

Do you even understand what the flag of this country means to so many of its citizens before you choose to “take a knee” in protest of this “country” during our national anthem?

You may think because you are paid so much that your job is tough, but you are clueless when it comes to tough.  Let me show you those whose job is really tough.

You are spoiled babies who stand around and have staff squirt GatorAid in your mouths, sit in front of misting cooling fans when it’s warm, and sit on heated benches when it’s cold.  That’s not “tough” that’s pampered.

You think that you deserve to be paid excessively high salaries, because you play a “dangerous” game where you can incur career ending injuries.  Let me show you career ending injuries!

You think you that you deserve immediate medical attention and the best medical facilities and doctors when injured.  Let me show you what it’s like for those who really need and deserve medical attention.

You think you have the right to disrespect the flag of the United States, the one our veterans fought for, risked limbs and mental stability to defend, in many cases died for.  Let me show you what our flag means to them, their families, and their friends.

You believe you are our heroes, when in reality you are nothing but overpaid entertainers, who exist solely for our enjoyment!  Well, your current antics are neither entertaining nor enjoyable, but rather a disgrace to this country, its citizens, all our veterans and their families, and the sacrifices they have made to ensure this country remains free.  You choose to openly disgrace this country in the eyes of the rest of the world, yet with all your money, still choose to live here rather than in any other country. People with even the slightest amount of “Class” will stand and respect our flag.  Where does that put you?  You want to see heroes…here are this countries heroes!

You can protest policies, the current government, or anything else you choose, that is your right.  But when you “protest” our flag and anthem, you are insulting the nation we all live in and love, and all those who have served, been injured, or died to keep it free.  There is nothing you can do or say that can make your actions anything more than the arrogance of classless people, who care about themselves more than our country or the freedoms for which our veterans and their families have sacrificed so much, to ensure you have the “right” to speak freely.  Our country is far from perfect, but if you can point to any other country where your freedom and opportunities are better than they are here, then you just might want to go there and show respect for their flag!

Military Men and Women, you MUST Not Obey That Order

All men and women in the military, and concerned citizens, need to watch this video.

I have often spoken of the purge taking place in the military at the hands of Barack Hussein Obama.  Bill Whittle does an exceptional job of explaining how this is taking place, and why Americans SHOULD be worried about it.  There are very, VERY few leaders in the military left today who will refuse to obey unlawful, unconstitutional orders from those careerist officers appointed above them, who are in turn receiving their orders from Obama.  Most who would refuse have either left, or been kicked out.

Men and women in the military, you MUST refuse to obey such orders.  You MUST honor your oath to protect and defend the Constitution.  It is under attack now, and has almost been put out of its misery.  You are the last line of defense between a tyrannical, out of control government and the citizenry wondering if they will be citizens or subjects when they wake up tomorrow.  If you fail to act… yes, FAIL… then we will be forced to act.

Do your duty, and HONOR YOUR OATH.

Obama May Seek UN Help to Disarm Americans

From this point forward, we must resist ANYONE who tries to take our guns. No matter who they are.  Whether they call themselves UN “peace enforcers,” military, national guard, police, or some other form of “law enforcement,” if they come for our guns they are now the enemy.  You can make tyranny legal, as we have seen many times through history, and we are seeing again right here, right now.

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
— Declaration of Independence

“When tyranny becomes law, resistance becomes duty.”

Evolving into a Second-Rate Military

Our ‘progressive‘ government (progressives used to call themselves communists until that became ‘uncool’ in America) is allowing, no, FORCING our military to become second rate while the welfare, EBT cards for booze and strip clubs, and Obamaphones continue to flow.

Remind me again which is actually called for in the Constitution.  Pretty sure it’s the military.

Military Alters Training to Deal With Budget Woes

Nov 25, 2013

Associated Press| by Brett Barrouquere and Susanne M. Schafer

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. — The skies above Shaw Air Force Base in central South Carolina and the fields across Fort Campbell on the Tennessee-Kentucky line have been a bit quieter in recent months.

Budget cuts to the military have forced installations around the country to alter training exercises and daily routines to save money. For airmen and pilots, that means fewer flights. For soldiers and Marines, it means fewer drills or delaying them until a deployment nears.

The automatic budget cuts, known as sequestration, come as the military is in the midst of a drawdown in Afghanistan and shrinking its overall size.

The Army has retooled training regimens to focus on soldiers deploying to Afghanistan and Korea — those who will be in hostile areas soonest, said George Wright, a civilian Army spokesman in Washington. The Army curtailed training to smaller units of eight to 14 soldiers each — the squad level — for 80 percent of the fighting force in fiscal year 2013 and canceled seven Brigade Combat Team training center rotations.

In cases where only part of a brigade is deploying from Fort Campbell, some soldiers are being pushed into field training while others are held back until their departure date draws nearer, spokesman Bob Jenkins said.”That way, we’re able to meet the requirements for the people being trained for deployment and make sure they had all the things that were required,” Jenkins said. “If people were supposed to go out and shoot 500 rounds one day, they went out and fired 500 rounds. That didn’t change.”

The 77th Fighter Squadron, one of three that make up the 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw, was told to stand down in April after it returned from a six-month deployment to Afghanistan. It was one of several groups in the 9th Air Force ordered to idle jets for weeks in response to the automatic budget cuts.

Col. Clark Quinn, the F-16 wing’s vice commander, said the pilots were given the vacation time they would have normally taken and then put into ground training, such as on computer simulators. It gave them a chance to rest, and polish up some of their technical skills, he said.

“They were not flying. Their aircraft were just parked,” Quinn said. The maintenance support units worked on other aircraft to stay sharp, he said.

The pilots and airmen are now back on their regular training schedules, Quinn said.

Over the summer, the 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell anticipated cuts would come and purchased helicopter parts that typically need replacing, rather waiting to buy them when equipment failed. The move has allowed the regiment to keep flying, even if on a more limited basis, once the cutbacks kicked in, said Maj. Matt Wolfe.

“We had to cut down flight hours for a while with the funding issues,” Wolfe said. “But, we’ve been flying on the cheap. The only thing we cost them is fuel.”

Navy Lt. Rob Myers at the Pentagon said budget cuts have forced the Naval Air Forces to trim flight hours for aviators back to 11 hours per aviator per month – the minimum needed to maintain flight proficiency. Pilots are turning to simulators to get in flight hours beyond the minimum.

“Our deploying forces are properly manned, trained and equipped to meet all mission requirements. Our non-deployers have had some degradation due to impacts based on exercise cancellations, port visits cancellations, schools cancellations, flight hours reduced,” Myers said.

Col. Steve Yackley, deputy commander at Fort Jackson outside Columbia, said the post continues to train about 45,000 soldiers annually and expects to get the money to do so for the next two years. It is the Army’s largest training installation and trains about half the service’s new soldiers every year.

“We are a little protected,” Yackley said. But he said the installation has to look for savings in other ways. At both Shaw and Fort Jackson, grass isn’t cut as diligently and repairs to buildings are made only in emergencies.

Fort Campbell has undertaken similar steps, stopping reunions for former soldiers and health and informational sessions for soldiers and their families.

“If we could do without it, we did,” Jenkins said.

Along with maintenance and training delays, some soldiers are being put to new tasks while not deployed.

Capt. J. Stephen Donaldson, company commander of 551st Military Police at Fort Campbell, is teaching soldiers who recently returned from deployment how to handle post security. Donaldson’s job entails taking 72 soldiers, from the infantry and supply, and teaching them how to use pepper spray and work security at the entrance gates to the post. The soldiers will work security on a six-month rotation.

The soldiers will fill in for two platoons from the 716th MP Battalion deployed overseas. With two more platoons headed out soon, the extra hands are needed to avoid hiring private contractors.

For the soldiers, shuffling training schedules and cutbacks are difficult, but nothing they say they can’t handle.

“It sucks, but you do what you need to do,” Spc. Chris Allen said after returning to Fort Campbell in October from six months in Afghanistan.

— Associated Press reporter Julie Watson in San Diego, Calif., contributed to this report. Barrouquere reported from Fort Campbell, Ky., and Louisville, Ky. Schafer reported from Columbia, S.C., and Shaw Air Force Base, S.C.

Veteran’s Day 2013: A Day of Somber Remembrance

Yes, I’m a veteran, but don’t thank me. Thank those who didn’t come home, and those who risked and gave much more than I to ensure our freedom. It’s too late to thank our WWI veterans, so start with those few remaining veterans from WWII who are still with us. We are losing hundreds of WWII vets each day. This weekend was the last gathering of the Doolittle Raiders who bombed Japan in the dark days of 1942 giving our nation a much needed morale boost, and causing the Japanese to strategically hold more assets close to the home islands thus saving untold numbers of American lives later in the war. Most of the Raiders are now dead, and the rest too frail to travel anymore. The rate of loss of the Korean War vets is accelerating, with the Vietnam vets waiting in the wings. Those are the people who saw horrors that I can only imagine. We are seeing a generation now come home from the Middle East who have been forced to fight an enemy with both hands tied behind their back, an enemy that doesn’t share our value of human life, and are being forced to die or be wounded because our government won’t allow us to win. The mental scars from that alone are more than any man should have to bear. Even if you never served in the military, but you are one who appreciates the freedom you still cling to, and who faithfully supports those called to take up arms on your behalf, it is I who gives thanks to you. Always remember what price has been paid to preserve your freedom. Pass that knowledge along to your children, friends, and neighbors. NEVER allow our history to be rewritten and cheapened. Honor the veterans by learning, loving, revering, teaching, and defending the very Constitution that our veterans swore an oath to protect and defend.

Carry on.

Purging and Transforming Our Military

This article is a pretty good summary of what the progressive-Marxist community agitator posing as our president, and his minions are doing to our military.  They are intentionally undermining, underfunding, and dismantling the finest fighting force the world has ever known.  At the same time, they are quietly building a domestic force that won’t be hesitant to fire on its own citizens.

Veterans and service members past, present and future, I have one thing to say to you.

REMEMBER YOUR OATH, and WHAT it was sworn to protect and defend.  Not WHO.  Even if you are no longer on active duty, no one has relieved you of that oath.

Purging and Transforming Our Military

51ddc046!h.300,id.9264,m.fill,w.540President Obama hasn’t just been hollowing out the military since taking office, he’s been gutting it, purging it of ideologically hostile personnel, and fundamentally transforming it into something other than a war-fighting force, military experts say.

Although few with military ties are willing to say it openly, it seems the administration is leading an orchestrated effort to seriously undermine the readiness of the military. Some reports indicate that Obama has purged 197 senior military officers since moving into the White House and that many of the retired officers have been harassed at their new civilian jobs for criticizing the president’s policies. The effects of these purges will be felt long after Obama leaves office.

This is, of course, the same through-the-looking-glass administration that goes out of its way not to label actual Islamic terrorists as terrorists, that calls terrorist attacks “man-caused disasters,” and refers to the Global War on Terror as the “Overseas Contingency Operation.”

A retired senior military officer and combat veteran who remains involved in national security affairs, told FrontPage in an interview that President Obama is involved in social engineering of the United States military.

“Having women in combat is bad,” he said. “It is changing the social complexion of the infantry and we now have this epidemic of sexual assaults.”

Soldiers are told not to be mean to gays, he said. “Do you really think the individuals who are joining the all-volunteer force will be joining to pull triggers or to get sensitivity training?”

The former officer said that President Obama is getting rid of experienced war fighters for no apparent reason.

The “poster child” for such firings is James Mattis, a real soldier’s soldier and four-star general in the Marine Corps who retired unexpectedly this past May at age 63. As a brigadier general Mattis led a brigade into Kandahar in fall of 2001 and a Marines division into Iraq during the invasion in 2003.

“Mattis should have been the next chairman of the joint chiefs of staff but mysteriously he gets retired,” the officer said. Mattis had been asking questions about Obama’s policy toward, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran, that the powers that be didn’t want asked, he said.

In early 2009 Obama cashiered David McKiernan, the general in charge of the Afghanistan war. He was replaced by Gen. Stanley McChrystal, whom he also fired. Obama canned his intelligence chief, Gen. David Petraeus. Gen. John Allen, another key figure in the Afghanistan war, resigned unexpectedly, according to an analysis by the “Vernuccio/Allison Report,” a radio show carried by WVOX 1460 AM in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Gen. Carter Ham fell on his sword soon after the White House denied permission for a rescue mission to save officials trapped at the besieged U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya. Admiral David Gaurette, who oversaw an aircraft carrier group in the Middle East, also had retirement thrust upon him, as did Marine Gen. James Cartwright.

Vice Admiral Tim Giardina and Major Gen. Michael Carey, military commanders involved with the nation’s nuclear defenses, have also been shown the door by the president.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady told WND that President Obama has forced out so many military leaders who have doubts about his policies that the nation’s armed forces no longer feel prepared to fight or to try to win armed conflicts.

“There is no doubt he is intent on emasculating the military and will fire anyone who disagrees with him” over such issues as “homosexuals, women in foxholes, the Obama sequester,” said Brady, a recipient of the military’s highest decoration, the Medal of Honor.

“They are purging everyone, and if you want to keep your job, just keep your mouth shut,” another top retired officer told WND.

“Not only are military service members being demoralized and the ranks’ overall readiness being reduced by the Obama administration’s purge of key leaders, colonels – those lined up in rank to replace outgoing generals – are quietly taking their careers in other directions,” the media outlet reports.

Retired Army Lt. Gen. William G. “Jerry” Boykin said four-star generals are being retired at an alarming rate under Obama. “Over the past three years, it is unprecedented for the number of four-star generals to be relieved of duty, and not necessarily relieved for cause.”

“I believe there is a purging of the military,” he said. “The problem is worse than we have ever seen.”

Retired Marine Corps Lt. Col. Oliver North weighed in on the issue on Mark Levin’s radio show last night.

Although “there’s a lot of dead wood wearing flags and stars … [who] wouldn’t know how to fight their way out of a paper bag,” a suspicious number of flag officers have been given walking papers by the Obama administration, he said. He continued:

There’s a group of people, and I don’t think it’s anything close to a hundred, but there’s probably several dozen who tried to do the right thing and they weren’t promoted by this administration because it was contrary to their policy whether it was the administration’s stated narrative that we’ve ended al-Qaeda, therefore we’re safe in the world, or whether it’s the stated narrative that we’re doing a pivot toward Asia which is total baloney because there’s no money to do it with, or it’s the people who want to defend America with a real serious ballistic missile defense and they were fired because they said, “hey gosh, we’re not doing what we need to do to protect the American people.”

Generals and admirals who “feel strongly that something has gone wrong and something isn’t being done right, you have a moral obligation to know, first of all, your career is probably over anyway, so have the courage to stand up at a podium, take off your stars, throw ‘em down [on] the podium, and tell the truth to the American people on your way out the door.”

This “has not happened yet and it should have happened a long time ago,” North said, adding:

The military is being turned into a laboratory for radical social engineering experiments. They’re wrecking the finest military force the world has ever known — brighter, better educated, trained, led, and now the most combat-experienced military force in the history of the world. And they’re not standing up and saying, “stop wrecking it.” This administration is intent on wrecking it.

The president has also taken some steps that seem aimed only at harming morale. Obama plans to force Marines of both sexes to don unisex headwear that critics mock as “girly hats.”

According to former Navy SEAL Carl Higbie, ranking SEAL commanders have banned their subordinates from wearing the Navy’s traditional “don’t tread on me” insignia. The patch depicting a coiled rattlesnake ready to strike is typically worn by SEALs and is a variation of the Gadsden flag, a Revolutionary era vexillological device that has been used by the U.S. Marines and Navy since 1775. In 2002 the secretary of the Navy ordered that a variation of the flag, the Navy Jack, be flown on all U.S. Navy ships for the duration of the Global War on Terror.

The Left abhors the Gadsden because it is carried at Tea Party rallies and has been used as a symbol of resistance to Obama’s authoritarianism.

Leftist influencer and all-purpose crackpot Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center describes the Gadsden flag as a symbol of hate that in “contemporary society [is] the flag of the militia movement.” The flag says “Don’t mess with us,” and implies, “Don’t mess with us at the point of a gun,” says Potok.

Since taking office in 2009, the Obama administration has been on a relentless drive to stigmatize and delegitimize opposing points of view. The administration has instructed Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials to treat conservatives and libertarians as potential terrorists. Obama’s IRS targets conservative and Tea Party groups for harassment and special investigations.

Americans ought to be alarmed that the administration is now using the same heavy-handed, un-American tactics to turn members of the nation’s armed forces against its domestic political adversaries.

We know, for example, that a January 2013 Department of Defense (DoD) diversity training center “student guide” entitled “Extremism” instructs soldiers that conservative organizations are “hate groups” and Tea Party supporters are potentially dangerous extremists.

The DoD materials not only take aim at modern conservative groups but label America’s Founding Fathers as extremists who would be unfit to serve in today’s military. The teaching guide advises that instead of “dressing in sheets,” radicals today “will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.” American patriots who fought for Independence from the United Kingdom in the 1700s are identified as adhering to “extremist ideologies.”

“In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist ideologies and movements,” the document states. “The colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the Northern states are just two examples.”

The materials advise soldiers to rely on the Alabama-based neo-Marxist Southern Poverty Law Center as a resource in identifying hate groups. A 2006 report from the SPLC, essentially an anti-conservative attack machine funded by George Soros, claimed improbably that “large numbers of potentially violent neo-Nazis, skinheads, and other white supremacists are now learning the art of warfare in the [U.S.] armed forces.”

This is what happens when you make a radical left-wing community organizer Commander-in-Chief of America’s armed forces.

Remember WHY We Celebrate Memorial Day

Do you have big plans for this Memorial Day? Maybe a BBQ, water skiing, and partying with friends? Do you remember WHY you have this holiday, and more importantly WHAT it is you’re supposed to be celebrating?

Memorial Day, as the name implies, is about memories. The memories we are supposed to have, share, and honor of the ones who made this day possible. Throughout our history men and women have stepped forward when their nation called. They have served unselfishly, and sacrificed more than most will ever understand. Some made the ultimate sacrifice, and never returned to the families, homes, and nation they left behind. Without their sacrifice our nation would undoubtedly have followed an entirely different course.

The freedom you exercise this Memorial Day to do whatever you want, or to do nothing at all, was ensured by the blood and sacrifice of veterans. As you grill your brats and burgers, as you spend time with family and friends, give thanks to those who made the day possible. Remember and honor their sacrifice.
