School Admins Physically Block Parents, Students From Off Campus “Jesus Lunch”

The war on Christianity is no longer in the shadows.  It is out in public and on full display.  Most notably in the public schools, and on college campuses.  The Apostle Paul warned us that we would face persecution.

2 Timothy 3:12 NASB  Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

He was right.

VIDEO: School Admins Physically Block Parents, Students From Off Campus “Jesus Lunch”

Every Tuesday since 2014, a group of parents and students in Wisconsin meet off campus for what’s known as a “Jesus Lunch.” During that time, students of the Christian faith meet in a public park during an open lunch hour for the students and religion is discussed.

How far will the school officials go to stop these lunches? Well, if this footage brought to us via EAGNews is any indication, the superintendent will actually physically try to block parents and students from using the park.

The Middleton-Cross Plains School District claims that they have a right to block the parents because they lease the park during school hours. However, the lease doesn’t prohibit others from using the park during that period — it simply allows the school to use it.

No other people have been excluded from the public park, especially not for exercising their First Amendment-protected rights of freedom of religion and assembly.

The lunches draw up to 450 students a week. Five parents arrange for a speaker, prepare and serve the food and then clean up. It seems like there would be no problem with this — but that’s when political correctness reared its ugly head.

The school district recently sent home a letter saying that they “believe that religious or political events do not have a place in our schools or on our campus, except when sponsored by a student group in accordance with our rules, which require prior approval.”

“In addition, many students have conveyed to us their concern about a group offering free food to incentivize participation in a religious event on campus. The result of which has a divisive impact on our learning community,” the ungrammatical letter read.

School officials also said — HA! — that they were worried about the quality of the food being served at the event. Yeah, because those Michelle Obama lunches are a whole lot better.

“Their true motivation is clear — it’s the religious speech (they object to),” said Phil Stamman, an attorney representing the parents. “Students are free to go a local gas station to buy food, a friend’s house, McDonalds. It’s not an issue with food. The problem is the religious message and the fact that it’s becoming too effective.”

So how did the school officials alleviate the “divisive impact” on their “learning community?” By blocking parents and students from entering the park, of course! After all, nothing says reconciliation like physical confrontation.

“They coned up the parking lot, waited there and confronted my clients and told them to leave,” Stamman said. “(The parents) responded how I recommended. They walked right past them. The superintendent repeatedly tried to confront them. He was the first one. But they just moved on.”

“The public park can be leased to another public entity, but it’s a non-exclusive lease. It’s not fenced off and it’s still open to the public. Because of that the laws associated with the First Amendment still apply,” Stamman added. “Nobody else was being told not to walk into the park.”

The town, by the way, has given the parents a letter saying they have use of the park for the “Jesus Lunches,” and the police have refused to do anything. Apparently, there is sanity in Middleton, Wisconsin. Just not in charge of the schools, apparently, whose administrators should be fired and replaced.

Do you think this superintendent should be fired?
