Planned Parenthood Director Quits After Watching Abortion on Ultrasound

News Flash: God STILL on His Throne, STILL in Control

God is good, all the time.  God does indeed answer prayer.  Even though the answer may not be what we wanted or expected, He answers.  To put it in a secular perspective, if you’ve heard the Garth Brooks song “Unanswered Prayers,” you understand that sometimes we pray for the wrong things, and God in His wisdom doesn’t give us what we ask for.

Scripture further illustrates this in John 15:7 which saysIf you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. (NIV)

What I believe God is saying here is that if we are “in tune” with Him, we’re going to ask for the right things (what God wants), and those things will be given to us.

In the case of Ms. Johnson, prayers were indeed answered.  God does not want lives to be destroyed. (Jer 29:11 NIV  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.)

We have to look around and wake up.  Our nation was founded by people who worshiped and feared God.  The closer our nation remained to Him, the more we prospered.  Now we have strayed from God, and now look to other “kings” to guide and save us.  We’re not doing so well right now, are we?  Where have we seen this before? (1Sa 12:13-15 NASB  “Now therefore, here is the king whom you have chosen, whom you have asked for, and behold, the LORD has set a king over you.  (14)  “If you will fear the LORD and serve Him, and listen to His voice and not rebel against the command of the LORD, then both you and also the king who reigns over you will follow the LORD your God.  (15)  “If you will not listen to the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the command of the LORD, then the hand of the LORD will be against you, as it was against your fathers.)

I believe prophecy may be unfolding before us.  I won’t pretend to know when “the end” will occur (1Th 5:2 NASB  For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.), but the signs say that it is getting closer.  So, rather than giving up and sitting around waiting for what might happen 10 seconds or 10,000 years from now, we need to set our individual lives and and the course of our nation back on the path of God.  We can let our nation pass into history now, or fight to preserve it and return God’s favor to it.

I’m not ready to be a footnote in history yet.  God, please do not hide your face from America.  Please forgive us and show us your grace and mercy in abundance.  Amen.

MIRACLE: Planned Parenthood director converts!

November 3rd, 2009 by admin

“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26

I’ve known about this for the past few weeks, but now I can finally share the HUGE NEWS!

The director of the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Bryan/College Station, Texas — where 40 Days for Life first began — has resigned her job, experienced a profound conversion, and joined our pro-life efforts.

Here’s what happened …

Abby Johnson worked at Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas for eight years. She was there when the first-ever 40 Days for Life campaign was conducted outside of her workplace in the Bryan/College Station community in 2004.

She was there for the next 40 Days for Life effort as well — the one that helped to launch the first nationally coordinated 40 Days for Life campaign in the fall of 2007.

And she was there for the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that — and the one after that!

In fact, Abby was able to look out the window of Planned Parenthood and see 40 Days for Life campaigns on six different occasions — as well as the regular year-round prayer presence organized by the local Coalition for Life, under the leadership of our own 40 Days for Life campaign director Shawn Carney.

For all those years, people outside the clinic prayed for Abby.

And with all those prayers, Abby finally had a change of heart. (Listen for the small, still voice) She said, “Over the past few months I had seen a change in motivation regarding the financial impact of abortions,” she said, “and I reached my breaking point after witnessing a particular kind of abortion on an ultrasound.”  (For those still blindly supporting this murderous destruction of life, have you ever witnessed one of these procedures in person?)

She quit her job and went across the street to the headquarters of the Coalition for Life where Shawn has been helping her over these last few weeks.

Fox News just reported on Abby’s conversion, stating:

Planned Parenthood Director Quits After Watching Abortion on Ultrasound

Monday , November 02, 2009

Joseph Abrams

The former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in southeast Texas says she had a “change of heart” after watching an abortion last month — and she quit her job and joined a pro-life group in praying outside the facility.

Abby Johnson, 29, used to escort women from their cars to the clinic in the eight years she volunteered and worked for Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas. But she says she knew it was time to leave after she watched a fetus “crumple” as it was vacuumed out of a patient’s uterus in September.

‘When I was working at Planned Parenthood I was extremely pro-choice,” Johnson told FoxNews.com. But after seeing the internal workings of the procedure for the first time on an ultrasound monitor, “I would say there was a definite conversion in my heart … a spiritual conversion.”

Johnson said she became disillusioned with her job after her bosses pressured her for months to increase profits by performing more and more abortions, which cost patients between $505 and $695.  (To advance his Marxist agenda Barack Obama told a blatant lie about doctors performing thousands of unnecessary surgeries and amputations just for the money.  He conveniently omitted Planned Parenthood and other murderers from that series of comments.)

“Every meeting that we had was, ‘We don’t have enough money, we don’t have enough money — we’ve got to keep these abortions coming,'” Johnson told FoxNews.com. “It’s a very lucrative business and that’s why they want to increase numbers.”

A spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood told FoxNews.com that it offers a range of services at it 850 health centers nationwide, providing pregnancy tests, vaccinations and women’s health services, “including wellness exams, breast and cervical cancer screenings, contraception, and STD testing and treatment.”

“Planned Parenthood’s focus is on prevention,” wrote Diane Quest, the group’s National Media Director. “Nationwide, more than 90% of the health care Planned Parenthood affiliates provide is preventive in nature,” explaining that a “core component the organization’s mission is to help women plan healthy pregnancies and prevent unintended pregnancies.”  (The founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a Nazi sympathizer and proponent of eugenics, which roughly translates as “good breeding.” The goal of these people was to get rid of “human weeds,” specifically listed by them as black people, poor/homeless people, mentally retarded, etc. They encourage the murder of innocent children under the banner of “free choice.” The fact that Barack Obama is simply alive, much less the President of the United States, means that Sanger’s vision has failed, or at least not yet succeeded. If it’s left to someone else to decide whose genes are good enough to breed, do you think you would be allowed to procreate, or be “chlorinated from the gene pool?” That should be a sobering thought.)

But Johnson said her bosses told her to change her “priorities” and focus on abortions, which she said made money for the office at a time when the recession has left them hurting.

“For them there’s not a lot of money in education,” she said. “There’s not as much money in family planning as there is abortion.”

Without a doctor in residence, she said, her clinic offered abortions only two days a month, but the doctor could perform 30 to 40 procedures on each day he was there. Johnson estimated that each abortion could net the branch about $350, adding up to more than $10,000 a month.

“The majority of the money was going to the facility,” she said.

Johnson said she never got any orders to increase profits in e-mails or letters, and had no way to prove her allegations about practices at the Bryan branch. She told FoxNews.com that pressure came in personal interactions with her regional manager from the larger Houston office.

But she said she got involved with the clinic “to help women and … [do] the right thing,” and the idea of raking in cash seemed to go against what she felt was the mission of the 93-year-old organization.

“Ideally my goal as the facility’s director is that your abortion numbers don’t increase,” because “you’re providing so much family planning and so much education that there is not a demand for abortion services.

“But that was not their goal,” she said.

A spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood refused to answer questions about Johnson’s accusations, but released a statement noting that a district court had issued a temporary restraining order against the former branch director and against the Coalition for Life, an anti-abortion group with which Johnson is now affiliated.

“We regret being forced to turn to the courts to protect the safety and confidentiality of our clients and staff, however, in this instance it is absolutely necessary,” said spokeswoman Rochelle Tafolla.  (Shades of ACORN…)

It is unclear what made Planned Parenthood seek the restraining order. Johnson said she did not intend to release any sensitive information about her former patients at the clinic.

A hearing is set for Nov. 10 to determine whether a judge will order an injunction against Johnson and the Coalition for Life, which has led protests outside the clinic and joined her in a prayer vigil there last month.

Johnson hasn’t found a job since she quit on Oct. 6, but she said she’s enjoying the time off to be with her 3-year-old daughter.

“It’s been great just to spend some time at home and get a break,” she said.

Read the whole story (and see Shawn with Abby) at:

Abby finally saw the truth. The truth which Planned Parenthood often tries to hide — even from its very own management staff.

She left on good terms, and says that Planned Parenthood tried to offer her more money to stay. “But this was not about money or me being angry,” she said. “It was about my change of heart on abortion.”

Planned Parenthood has responded by going to court to seek a restraining order against both Abby and the Coalition for Life. The requested court action warns against disclosing any “confidential information.” An initial court hearing is set for November 10, so please keep Abby, Shawn, and the Coalition for Life in your prayers.

Seeing is believing, so here’s the local news report aired by KBTX-TV in Bryan/College Station:

Abby’s amazing conversion demonstrates the importance of a constant, persistent, peaceful prayer presence in front of abortion facilities.

From that first campaign in 2004, we’ve prayed for Abby — and for all abortion workers — that they would come to see what abortion really is, and that they would leave the deadly business. In this case, those prayers have been answered.

We are so proud of Abby’s courage to leave the abortion industry and publicly announce her reasons for leaving.

And now a familiar face has been seen praying outside Planned Parenthood in Bryan/College Station during the final days of this fall’s 40 Days for Life — yes, Abby Johnson.

God can and will do amazing things — if only we ask!

We must continue to pray and fast for more conversions just like Abby’s.

In fact, we WILL continue.

In the days ahead, you’ll learn how — together — we will keep this amazing momentum growing.

In all, eight clinic workers left their jobs during the 40 Days for Life campaign that just ended — and reports are still pouring in from across the 212 participating cities, so it could be even more!

I have another updated total for you as well. The number of babies (and their moms) spared from abortion during this campaign is now up to …

Praise God for ALL these miracles!

For Life,

David Bereit
National Director
40 Days for Life

P.S.- Please keep Abby in your prayers this week. She goes on the Laura Ingraham radio show to tell her story in a few hours, and is scheduled to be on the O’Reilly Factor on Friday. May God use her testimony to change many hearts and minds!
