From one of the mouths on one of his faces, Obama NOW says that his worries about military spending are delaying his decision on sending more troops to Afghanistan.  That’s funny.  He wasn’t worried about too much spending when he signed the $787 Billion (which we didn’t have) porkulus package into law.  He doesn’t seem too worried about spending TRILLIONS more dollars we don’t have on a freedom destroying takeover of the American health care system.  He doesn’t seem too worried about spending TRILLIONS more dollars we don’t have, and completing the destruction of our economy by pushing his cap-and-charade climate change agenda, and vowing to sign the Copenhagen Treaty.  He doesn’t seem too worried about the BILLIONS of dollars that are being funneled to his cronies and union buddies in the form of political payoffs.

The amount of fraud, waste, and abuse of the Medicare system last year would fund the 40,000 troops that General McChrystal is requesting for an entire year.

Here’s a Nancy Pelosi, “Are you kidding me?” moment if I ever saw one.  During his current Asian “Apologize for America” tour, Comrade Obama stopped at Eielson AFB in Alaska.  There he told the 1,000 some-odd troops in attendance the following:

“I want you guys to understand that I will never hesitate to use force to protect the American people and our vital interests,” Obama told the troops. “But I also make you this promise: I will not risk your lives unless it is necessary to America’s vital interests.”

“And if it is necessary,” Obama added, “the United States of America will have your back. We’ll give you the strategy and the clear mission you deserve. We’ll give you the equipment and support you need to get the job done. And that includes public support back home.”

I wonder if he includes the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq in this statement, because he is using military force, and he is risking American military lives in those places.  Does he consider Afghanistan and Iraq to be “America’s vital interests?”  If he did, he would give them a “strategy and the clear mission” they deserve, and he would indeed “have their back,” and would be giving them “the equipment and support” they “need to get the job done.”

He has delayed for 3 months giving the General THAT HE APPOINTED the men and material that he has requested, so what does that say about Obama’s attitude toward Afghanistan?  What does it say about his attitude toward the military in general when looked at in the larger context of his military spending plans?

It appears to me that Chairman Maobama is attempting to destroy the military just as he appears to be intentionally trying to destroy the economy.  What will fill the void?  Remember that “civilian security force” Obama spoke of during his campaign?  The one that he said would be “just as well funded and equipped as the military?”  The current military swears to protect and defend the constitution.  Obama’s new “military” would swear allegiance to him.

Didn’t we learn ANYTHING from the second world war?  Brown Shirts, anyone?

219 of you, and you know who you are, voted to enslave Americans by voting for Pusher Pelosi’s Panacea health care “reform” bill.  If you have actually read this monstrosity, and you still voted for it, you have verified that you hate American values, hate the U.S. Constitution, hate the American way of life, hate freedom, and basically want to enslave Americans.

EVERY ONE OF YOU has dodged question after question about this legislation.  These weren’t hard questions, nor were they unimportant or unrelated questions to the matter of health care in America.

Here are some of the questions you HAVEN’T, CAN’T, and/or WON’T answer:

• Where does the constitution give you the authority to mandate that citizens buy something from the government? (It doesn’t.)  Ms. Pelosi’s reply to this question?  “Are you serious?  Are you serious?”  Then she turned away and ignored the question.
• If this bill is so great, why did you shoot down 11 separate amendments to make it mandatory that you be enrolled in the very same plan you are forcing on Americans? (Because you want power and control over Americans.)  You don’t REALLY care a hoot about REAL health care “reform.”
• Do you REALLY plan on throwing Americans in jail if they don’t purchase the government insurance? All of your dodges around this question indicate that you do.  Have you looked at the cost of incarcerating someone versus what the fine is they would pay?  Yet you still want to throw people in jail.  This kind of thing hasn’t been seen outside of communist Russia, Nazi Germany, or any other totalitarian country.  Again, this speaks to your REAL motivation.
• How can we afford this? (We can’t.)  The plan is not “deficit neutral,” it breaks Obama’s promise not to raise taxes on 95% of Americans, and it adds trillions to the debt and deficit.
• Why aren’t there any of the features in this bill that would ACTUALLY reduce costs and increase availability and quality of health care? Answer: because you are pandering to special interests and consolidating your political power using taxpayer money.  Tort reform, limiting medical liability, NON-GOVERNMENT competition across states lines, and health savings accounts would provide REAL savings.  But this would mean that YOU weren’t in control, which is the whole purpose of your plan.

America simply can’t afford your plan, or any more of your incompetence.  Start packing your things, because YOU’RE FIRED!

Obama and the idiot liberal/communists in Washington think they can do a better job or running America’s health care, yet the programs they ALREADY run are unmitigated disasters.

If we REALLY knew where the waste in these programs was going, my bet is that Obama and company would have a substantial amount of egg on their faces.

Report: Government Paid More Than $47B in Medicare Claims

A new federal report shows the government paid more than $47 billion in questionable Medicare claims.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The government paid more than $47 billion in questionable Medicare claims including medical treatment showing little relation to a patient’s condition, wasting taxpayer dollars at a rate nearly three times the previous year.

Excerpts of a new federal report, obtained by The Associated Press, show a dramatic increase in improper payments in the $440 billion Medicare program that has been cited by government auditors as a high risk for fraud and waste for 20 years.

It’s not clear whether Medicare fraud is actually worsening. Much of the increase in the last year is attributed to a change in the Health and Human Services Department’s methodology that imposes stricter documentation requirements and includes more improper payments — part of a data-collection effort being ordered government-wide by President Barack Obama this coming week to promote “honest budgeting” and accurate statistics.

Still, the fiscal 2009 financial report — covering the first few months of the Obama administration — highlights the challenges ahead for a government that is seeking in part to pay for its proposed health care overhaul by cracking down on Medicare fraud. While noting that several new anti-fraud efforts were beginning, the government report makes clear that “aggressive actions” to date aimed at reducing improper payments had yielded little improvement.

In recent years, the suspect claims have included Medicare prescriptions from doctors who were dead, and requests for payment for medical supplies such as blood glucose strips for sexual impotence and diabetic shoes for leg amputees. Patients, many of them new citizens who barely speak English, are sometimes recruited by brokers who go door-to-door offering hundreds of dollars for use of their Medicare numbers.

Obama is expected to announce new initiatives this coning week to help crack down on Medicare fraud, including a government-wide Web site aimed at providing a fuller account of health care spending and improper payments made by various agencies. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services also will launch a Web interactive next month that will allow users to track Medicare payment information by categories such as state, diagnosis and hospital.

According to the report, the Bush administration from 2005-2008 reported improper payments of roughly 4 percent in the fee for service program, or about $17 billion total in 2008. Government officials at the time, however, typically did not consider a Medicare payment improper if the medical documentation was incomplete or a doctor’s signature was illegible. Since these were flaws that ordinarily bar payment, that methodology drew complaints from government auditors that the figures were understated.

For fiscal year 2009, the Obama administration began counting those claims as improper, but was unable to complete an official tally based on the new methodology. As a result, it officially reported improper payments for its fee for service program at 7.8 percent, representing a partial tally under the new formula. But it considers the unofficial tally of 12.4 percent to be more representative.

Beginning next year, the 12.4 percent figure — or a total of $47 billion in improper payments when counting both Medicare fee for service and managed care — will be used as the baseline estimate. The federal report sets a target of reducing improper payments in the fee for service program to 9.5 percent by next year, which would represent a savings of roughly $9.7 billion.

The findings come as the Obama administration is making Medicare anti-fraud efforts an important priority. (Sure they are.  If you believe that, I have some beachfront property in Florida that I’ll sell you when the tide goes down.) In recent months, HHS has said it was multiplying by 10 the number of agents and prosecutors targeting fraud in Miami, Los Angeles and other strategic cities where tens of billions of dollars are believed to be lost each year. The new partnership seeks to have better sharing of real-time intelligence data on health care fraud patterns.  (This is where all those jobs Obama claims to be creating REALLY are.  He is GROWING GOVERNMENT.)

Officials say they also want to increase training and outreach among Medicare providers to reduce documentation errors, while proposed health overhaul legislation would increase background checks on Medicare claimants and impose stiffer penalties for false claims.

Other findings:

–In the Medicaid program for the poor, roughly $18.1 billion, or 9.6 percent of claims, are believed to be improper payments.

–Using a baseline of 12.4 percent in improper payments in the Medicare fee for service program, HHS is setting targets of reducing fraud and waste to 9.5 percent, 8.5 percent, and 8.0 percent, respectively, for fiscal years 2010 through 2012.

Records released in the past week showed that CMS for three years ignored internal watchdog warnings about swindlers stealing millions of dollars by scamming several Medicare programs. The agency received roughly 30 warnings from inspectors but didn’t respond to half of them, even after repeated letters.

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.  He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?’

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, ‘Maybe it’s because the Brit’s, Canadians, Aussie’s and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.’

The American said, ‘The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.”

“Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !”

These Pelosi-heads are Twittering away while a pork-laden $37 Billion budget gets pushed further down the road, and gets loaded with more Pelosi.  THEY HAVEN’T GOT TIME READ THE BILLS THEY VOTE ON BUT THEY CAN PLAY SOLITAIRE AND CHECK BALL SCORES TO FILL UP THEIR STRENUOUS 3-DAY WORK WEEK!!! $37 Billion is a big deal to the state of Connecticut, but chump change compared to what Obama, Reid, and Pelosi have done to us in 9 months.

Connecticut lawmakers caught on Facebook and playing solitaire in $37 billion budget hearing

Associated Press photographer Jessica Hill captured the essence of the clumsiness of government yesterday in a now widely circulated photo. While Connecticut House Majority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr. spoke on the budget issues that are plaguing yet another state, members of the Hall of House are playing solitaire, browsing Facebook, and checking out World Series highlights (it has been a great series though).

It’s understandable that Connecticut’s “public servants” obviously have very little concern for the details of a $37 billion dollar budget battle; it’s not their money, after all. As long as the public trough is large enough and the right politically connected pockets are filled, the intricacies and details of a budget matter little when you have endless supply of funds (the Connecticut taxpayers).

Republican Tom Foley, who is running against Crook “Chris” Dodd (D-Wall Street) in Connecticut, took the time to pounce on the Democrats in Connecticut’s legislature.

“I was disheartened to see a Hartford Courant front page photo showing members of our Democratically-controlled legislature playing solitaire on their computers while debate was occurring on a new state budget that raises taxes and contains no net reduction in spending. This is not a time for the Democrats who control our legislature to be playing games with Connecticut’s future. Our elected officials need to put away their computer toys and help working people by lowering taxes and keeping government spending down.”

Lower taxes and cutting government spending? It may be too good to be true to have a politician say AND mean these words at the same time, but a Dodd-less Senate would be something to cheer for (though my heart is with the smart and funny libertarian Republican Peter Schiff for the Senate seat).

Lastly, we see once again the Internet is leaving the dinosaurs in the mainstream press behind. Though I’m no fan of conservative pundit Michelle Malkin, she posted this picture on her blog post this morning, and combined with the Drudge Report’s coverage, it spread all over the web.

In a time when the government spies on our emails, phone calls, and medical records, it’s nice to know that there is finally an outlet for us to finally be able to watch the watchmen.

Some of you are wandering through life, flaunting your liberalism, thinking everything is just grand.  You have always believed that someone else will provide all of your wants and needs.  However, lately you have started to think that maybe, just maybe there is something that you are not being told.  Maybe things aren’t as rosy as you have been led to believe.  Everything seems to be part of a matrix…

So what is the Matrix?  It is the world of liberal lies constructed by our liberal, communist/socialist government that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

What is the truth?  The truth is that you are a prisoner of liberalism.  It is a prison constructed to imprison and enslave your mind.

This may all seem hard to swallow.  But your curiosity and awakening thirst for truth has brought you this far.

Congratulations on taking the red pill and seeking the truth.  Now follow me.  This is going to be a wild ride.

As you wake up from your dream, you will see that the government is using you.  It is feeding off of you and everyone else.  Once upon a time it derived its power from the people, now it simply takes it.

Once the government sees that you have awakened, begun to think for yourself, become self aware and aware of what government is doing to you, they will unplug you from your blissfully ignorant world that you thought was safe.  Then government will discard you into the sewer of life with the rest of the excrement.

Just before you drown in a sea of excrement, you are rescued by Liberty.  She shows you that teamwork is great, but that you can also do things on your own.  She shows you that all of the other promises that were made to you were simply lies to keep you compliant.  She teaches you that to prevent yourself from becoming a prisoner again, you need to think for yourself, and question everything.

This is what the REAL mainstream of America is thinking and feeling.
